A Final Random Inspection – also known as a pre-shipment inspection, FRI or PSI – is the quality gate between your factory and your clients. It is done when at least 80% of your order is ready and packed. A statistically representative sample is checked using internationally approved AQL sampling to check the quality of your whole production lot.
This is the most significant inspection in the quality control solutions plan of most importers. It’s where everything comes together – craftsmanship, packing, labelling, quantity, adherence to specifications — all independently confirmed, before your items are sealed into a container and committed to a shipment timetable.
All pre-shipment inspection services at Ace Sure are based on ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 (ISO 2859-1) statistical sample standard. We use full-time inspectors, not freelancers, so you get consistent, accountable quality assurance services from professionals trained to our standards and accountable for their findings.
A third-party inspection means you are completely dependent on the factory’s own quality assessment. That’s hardly a neutral stance – a manufacturer has a business interest in shipping on time, and their internal quality inspections reflect that. Another benefit of an independent inspection from Ace Sure is that you get an objective, documented report from an inspector who has no stake in the outcome.
Pre-shipment inspection certifications are a practical necessity for many importers, other than for quality reasons. Many countries have customs authorities that need independent verification prior to importation of goods. Our QA QC services provide the documentation you need for hassle-free customs clearance and to show compliance with destination market laws.
In other words, something goes wrong on a shipment that was not independently inspected, you have no evidence, no leverage and few options. A passed Ace Sure FRI offers you the confidence and paperwork to ship with confidence.
Many companies offer pre-shipment inspection services. Ace Sure is different in how we do the work:
Every inspector is a salaried Ace Sure employee – not a freelancer. This is at the heart of the constancy of our quality management services and why we have an industry-low complaint rate.
We do not utilise generic checklists. We offer quality assurance services, including product-specific inspection processes that are customized to your specifications and kept current with regulatory changes.
Our reports are well organised, thorough and documented in a way that you can quickly reference particular findings with your supplier and take action.
We urge clients to share areas of specific concern. The better you can tell us about your product and what you expect in terms of quality, the better your inspection will go.
Our inspectors approach each order as if it were their own cargo — going beyond the checklist to identify anything that could become a problem downstream.
